I am trained and equipped to deal with all types of emergencies, including break-ins, broken keys, jammed locks, lost or stolen keys, broken door frames and more. Whatever the problem, I will be happy to fix it.

I gained hands-on experience as an apprentice locksmith with Flintofts Ironmongers in Pickering. It was during this time I learned traditional skills of the trade including "architectural ironmongery" being the making of intricate items such as handles, locks, keys and hinges using techniques including benchwork, cutting by hand and working by hand.

One of my first projects was handmaking two keys completely from scratch for a parish church lock.  It wasn't straightforward! I enjoyed the challenge and since then I have continued to make bespoke keys and other items for a range of historic buildings from churches to old houses. I also work with antique safes and locks.
